Tools for Life
Getting started on your own after high school is expensive. Security deposit, renter’s insurance, a TV, internet, furniture… the cost of starting out can be overwhelming. Often, covering these costs means difficult decisions between making short-term minimum wage money now, or investing in yourself to earn a family-sustaining salary later.
Holy Family Institute, which has been helping young people succeed since 1900, created the Tools for Life program to help those willing to help themselves. We provide low-cost single bedroom housing, transportation assistance to job sites and training centers, daily meals, wi-fi, laundry, driver’s education, financial empowerment, and culinary classes. Residents in our program get a runway to success plus access to a gym and weight room, Catholic Chapel, outdoor basketball hoops, a seasonal pool, and other recreation space.
