What We Do

Parents And Children Together (PACT)

Strengthening and supporting high-risk families with one or more children who experience truancy.

Truancy has an enormous impact on not only educational success, but also on family cohesion and individual well-being.

Parents and Children Together (PACT) is a 90-day intervention program that meets regularly with families to identify the barriers that contribute to truancy, work to decrease those barriers, and locate vital community supports and resources.

We view families as colleagues and partners in their children's success, working within each family's natural environment while respecting their culture, traditions, and religious beliefs. Our experienced staff provides round-the-clock support that includes in-home therapy, skill building, cognitive behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and rational emotive behavior therapy. Every crisis is an opportunity for change, and every family can grow with the proper resources and motivation.

Referrals are made through the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) – either by the Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF) or the Office of Community Service. If you are interested in the PACT program and are involved with CYF, please mention it to your caseworker. If you are not involved with CYF, you can contact the DHS Resource Hub at DHSResourceSupport@alleghenycounty.us to learn more about our program and request a referral.

The generosity of donors enables Holy Family Institute to offer these crucial services to families and communities in need. To join us in our mission of hope and healing, please make a gift today.
