Holy Family Institute partners with Duquesne Light to provide year-round energy assistance to local residents who qualify for the program. A Holy Family representative can explain income eligibility and other qualifying guidelines for the following programs:
Customer Assistance and Referral Evaluation Services (CARES) assists payment-challenged and special needs customers in maintaining residential electric service.
Customer Assisted Program (CAP) offers several benefits to those who are eligible, including a reduced monthly bill and debt forgiveness.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides one cash grant per customer of up to $500 per heating season (usually November to April). LIHEAP Crisis grants are available for emergency situations that could result in a loss of heat, such as broken heating equipment.
Duquesne Light is also a founding utility partner of Dollar Energy Fund, which helps clients access other utilities. Holy Family Institute's community offices offer Dollar Energy Fund eligibility screening and application assistance.
Energy assistance is available through the Holy Family Institute community office locations listed below. Please visit Duquesne Light Company's website to fill out an online application or call one of HFI's offices for assistance.
